Milton Keynes – Bletchley Fines

Bletchley Neighbourhood team along with partner agency Partners Against Crime (PAC) and officers from Milton Keynes Roads Policing carried out an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) operation at MK1 Shopping site in Bletchley on Saturday 6 July.

Store managers had raised concerns over shopliftings taking place and suspects leaving in vehicles. Over 2,000 vehicles passed through the operation and officers dealt with 84 alerts.

The following offences were dealt with:

One vehicle had a bald tyre – £60 fine and three penalty points
One driver was driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence – £60 fine and three penalty points
One Vehicle was displaying incorrect number plates – £30 fine.

PC David Clifford-Smith said “We will arrange operations like this to support our local stores and offer crime prevention advice to members of the public.”
